The Perth Mint released several Australian silver coins in August 2012. The above coins depict a wombat, emu and friendship.

Among those new releases is a collection of a trio of 1/2 ounce silver coins depicting three of the most iconic creatures Australia has to offer in the Australian Outback Silver Coin Collection.

The 40th anniversary of friendship between China and Australia is honored with the release of a new one ounce coin. Animal lovers will respect the China and Australia 40 Years of Friendship Silver Coin as well as those interested in international relations owing to the inclusion of the nation’s symbolic animals, the kangaroo and the panda bear.

The Australian Opal Series has proven to be a popular program with collectors and will be in its second release with the Opal Wombat Silver Proof Coin. An inner panel of pure Australian opal on the reverse contains a colorful depiction of the wombat.

Offered along with a gold proof coin, the FIFA World Cup Brazil™ Silver Proof Coin acknowledges the upcoming World Cup challenge to be held in Brazil. This coin is struck from 1/2 ounce of 99.9 pure silver.

Making its debut as the second release in the map-shaped series, the Australian Map Shaped Emu Silver Coin contains the image of an emu on the reverse. As the name of the strike indicates, coins of the series are struck in the shape of the Australian continent.
